We're flying to Texas this weekend to visit my family... Any tips on flying with a baby? I prefer flying there because it's faster, but with all the stuff I wanna take, driving would work better! But, it's a really long drive and takes an extra day each way, so it makes it not worth going if we can't stay for at least a week when we drive. Plus, we got our tickets on sale and they were cheaper than what it would have cost us in gas. So, that's good... I just don't wanna be the people with the screaming baby on the plane! Ha.

I flew when my ds1 was 4 months and it actually wasn't that bad. I made sure to change his diaper right before we boarded and I made sure to feed him during take off and landing (or offer a paci but my son hated them) to help with his ears popping. He was great and it was surprisingly easy. Someone once told me that if your baby cries so what. That is what they do sometimes and there is no reason to feel bad or guilty. If you are really worried I have heard of people bringing headphones to give to those sitting around them if baby cries.

Sorry about typos..I hate responding from my iPad. It is such a pain.

I am hoping he will just sleep most of the time. It's only an hour and a half or two hour flight. I plan to nurse most of the way if I can. That will keep him happy and quiet!

Thanks for posting this thread! I was going to in a couple weeks. Arthur and I are flying to California just the two of us in October. I've been nervous about it. I just looked on the TSA website about going through security, since that's the biggest worry I have.

Thank you *Kiliki* for the beautiful siggy
