Is anyone making a playlist for labor?
I only have one song that goes through my mind when I think of labor - Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash Anytime I hear someone describe pushing my mind goes straight to that song...
If I want to listen to music I'd probably just put Pandora on otherwise
Excuse me if my typing is bad There's probably a baby in my arms.

Ha! Though I love some Johnny Cash, so introducing Kuato to some good music is OK by me.

I do plan on having a few playlists ready. Something soothing, something to motivate, and probably a mix of my favorites. Music is a big part of everything for some of the family, so it seems a given for me. I also find it to be a stress reliever sometimes.

I may want total silence, but I'll have it just in case.

I still have the playlist that I made for my DD's labor. It includes about 200 of my favorite, mellow songs. I had it on repeat the entire 30 hours I was laboring with her, and will listen to it again this time.

Thank you, MommaDucks, for my lovely siggy

Probably not. I think I'm going to bring a card game this time.

I'm going to bring my tablet and if I feel like music I'll just turn on my favorite Pandora station.

Yes, I downloaded a whole CD onto my iTunes that is spa-type, relaxing music.

Will make one, I think. Will probably put a lot of Sigur Ros on. Especially the song Ekki Mukk, because it was the song I listened to on repeat after I found out I was pregnant. It captures the awe I feel about this whole process. Hopefully it will remind me about that when I am in labour. Also, Sufjan Stephens' Redford is a good one. Now I want to make my list!

I find listening to music that really moves me is helpful while in labor. I can't listen to spa-like stuff, but some kind of music that gets me pumped, same as when I'm working out. There are some exceptions, but still not spa-like. For the one natural birth I had my iPod was a lifesaver.

No I don't think I would be able to stand music while in labor, lol. I am just funny like that.

Ring of fire makes me laugh every time I hear it now... while laboring for my son I said something about the burning sensation and the midwife said "that's what we call the ring of fire" and then my husband started singing.... yup... singing.... so I need to get that song for my playlist.. just NEED it... to lighten the mood you know.

Otherwise I'm trying to come up with one, cause I'd like the distraction and to remind myself not to take myself too seriously, I can always turn it off if need be, but I think I'd enjoy it. (didn't do it with my other two but now I wish I had)

No music or playlist here. I will have my ipod, but I may actually use the white noise app since I find that more soothing.
