Oh yes. I used to be grossed out by moms breastfeeding in public. I said I wouldn't let my kids sleep in my bed and that I made fun of my homeschooling sister in law. I said I wouldn't be one of those moms that worries about organic/natural. Said I would never let my child have a tantrum in public. Said I would never bribe my child. Oh yeah what a naive dumb idiot I was lol.

I thought I would be super traditional- never let a kid sleep in my bed, bottle feed, never allow tantrums, have children perfectly dressed and behaved in public. Apparently I'm a crunchy mom who allows her children to wear ridiculous clothes in public just because they picked it out. I am still somewhat strict on behavior but I don't rule with an iron fist

Not sure! I worked in daycare so I got to see and understand a lot about what parents go through just from that. But I also saw a lot of bad parenting and that's made me aware of things that I don't want to do with my kids.

Like, if I haven't seen my kid all day I don't carry a phone in with me and talk on it while picking them up. I don't baby my kids in everything. Coddling does occur, can't help that, but I don't let Alex skirt around responsibility. If I asked him to do something he better do it. He will be polite and say "please" and "thank you". We're working on greeting. I'm trying to teach him to always say "hello" when you first see someone and when he's with kids I'm trying to get him to say "Hello, I'm Alex" Slow going.

'Scuse the bad typing, please. 'Breast is Best' but not when browsing the internet!

Parenting an infant was way easier and more fun than I expected. I thought it would be a sleep deprivation nightmare but it's actually okay. I was chronically sleep deprived for years in my student days so it really hasn't been a shock. I haven't had a colicky baby though, I know that is truly difficult. But with a baby, yeah I might be tired, but at least I don't have to give a presentation or take an exam or something, just survive the day, I don't have to think too hard or impress anybody. And actually G has been pretty easy so those days are seldom even when he's having a fussy stage.

I had expected toddler hood to be a challenge but it has been even worse than I thought. At least with M. I swear that girl has the devil in her... Lol. I know I was like her as a child so I have a lot more sympathy for my parents.
