So, me being a freak when it comes to Cicely hitting milestones, I was pretty thrilled when she discovered she could get around.. But scooting on her back?! Seriously kiddo?!?! She started this at the end of four months and I thought she would figure it out by now (crawling), but she doesn't get it - anyone else's baby do this? She has rubbed a bald spot from scooting on her back. And when she is on her belly, she just rolls on to her back and scoots off. lol. I have never seen a baby do this before!
I always worry about her hitting milestones with all the blood loss she had at birth since blood carries oxygen and all that...

Yes! My baby does the backwards scoot alllll the time lol. She doesn't like being on her belly, so she'll usually either roll over or cry. She is getting very close to regular crawling, though. It'll be any day now, but I can't start her on her belly...she has to start from the sitting position, otherwise she just gives up!

She back scoots in her crib and ends up with her head up against the bars at the top of the crib. She's crazy! Her mode of transportation on the floor though is rolling.

Natalie scooted on her butt but never her back. Caroline is starting to army crawl. I would love to watch a back scooter. So cute!

Lexi just started scooting backwards today. I had her directly on the hardwoods so that may have been why...but it was really cute to see her go! She was on her belly, though, not on her back.

That sounds hilarious! Babies are tiny geniuses! Can you keep a hat on her to protect her head/make the sliding easier?

The hat is a good idea, unfortunately it just ends up over her face and she can't see. Or it slides off the back of her head.

It is pretty entertaining. But then again, so is everything else she does <3
