Friday 6.00 pm I started to feel pain in my left breast.
It was right underneath and painful to touch.. Feels hard
I figured I'd pump but had a student come so taught through the pain.
When I finished teaching at 9 pm I felt like I was coming down with a fever.
Checked my temperature and was at 39.8 and had to put socks on my feet and stay under my blanket.
Almost like chills. I pumped checked my temperature am it went down to 38. After an hour I started to sweat an my temperature returned to normal.
In the morning I started to feel cold again and had temperature at 37.9
Now am feeling hot.
What is going on???

Just called my inlaws and canceled our celebration for Clara's one monthaversary.
Feel terrible doin this as canceled goin to their place last week as well as Clara had a cold

Sounds like mastitis. You need to massage that plugged duct out! There are some home remedies you can try to get rid of the infection, but if you think the fever and chills are too much to try the home remedies, go to the doctor for antibiotics.

Look at kellymom.com for info on mastitis and a list of home remedies.

I got rid of my 2nd round of mastitis with rest, massaging out the plugged duct, hot showers, echinacea, epsom salt soaks, cabbage leaves...I did a lot!

But the most important things are rest, rest, rest, up your water intake, make sure you empty the breast when nursing ( start with that side first all the time when nursing). Also make sure your bra isn't cutting in and causing the plugged duct!

Yep, mastitis. Do all those tricks but I recommend going to doc on Monday to make sure it's not something else.

Yeah, that's mastitis. I had it with DS #2. It totally sucks. Hope it clears up fast for you!
