So! I figured out why Jo was so miserable the other day....

She got a tooth! Her first one. Left side bottom. But the thing is....

It's going the WRONG WAY! You know how it should lay side-to-side in her gums. Hers is crossing the gum line forward and backward. It's at a slight angle, but doesn't remotely look normal. It's so weird. I looked online and apparently it can happen and doesn't mean it will stay that way. As her other teeth come in, it may get pushed to the proper positioning. But I can't even see how that is possible given its position now. I wish she would let me get a picture of it. I'm sure as it grows I can.

Anyone ever heard of this??

When one of Chase's teeth came in, it looked completely wrong. I swore it looked like it was coming out the front of his gum, sideways, and just completely out of place. My husband agreed. It looked like that for about a week. As it emerged more and more each day, it didn't look as bad. When it finally came just about all the way through, it seemed to just kind of "right itself" and is totally normal now. I do remember very well, that with that tooth, he was MISERABLE! Yet, not much of a problem with any of his other teeth when they came through. I know that sounds strange, and really, it kind of was. I don't know why that one tooth was so wacky, or why it ended up being OK. I went to school to be an RDA, and worked in dental offices for a while, but I hated it. To be honest, in school they didn't focus on pediatric dentistry too much, so there are a lot of things I can't recall. It's 2:30 in the morning here at the moment, but during the day, I will go pull out my pediatric dentistry book and see what I can find for you. Poor little doll! I hope she doesn't have any more discomfort

Poor Jo! That explains a lot! I don't know anything about this but I hope it corrects quickly and doesn't happen again!

Wow that is strange! I bet it has to go through more gum tissue if it was coming in at an angle. Maybe that's why it hurt more? Poor little lamb.
