not the week I had planned on for sure. My mother was supposed to be helping me all last week, but my dad had his second heart attack Monday , so a couple days I had a young girl to help in the morning with my three older kids, but I was on my own from there...
unfortunately though Iím not one who bounces back quickly so I sat on the sofa and gave orders all day.
So this week was much slower than I anticipated... and by the end of the day I am so sore I canít stand up all the way, and when I lay down my back seizes up... did I mention this is still better than than the last weeks of pregnancy??
I started back some of our homeschool, but we are doing it in the living room instead of at the table, so I can sit reclining on the sofa. I mostly do it for sanity because the kids go nuts without something constructive to do.
Hope yíall are fairing better!

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. Hope he's on the mend, as are you. Take it easy!!! The first few weeks are tough for sure. I'm on week 5 and feeling MUCH better. I can still tell when I overdo it though. Hopefully your weather has been warm enough for the kids to go outside? We've been cooped up inside in northern va

I am on my own this week and it's okayish. I am not really doing much for cooking or cleaning. I am letting stuff pile up as I mostly just do what I have to do to get the kids fed and taken care of. Everything hurts still. Well except my boobs are over their first week pain adjustment. Recovery is slow for me too. My mom had said she was going to bring meals for me but then she got busy doing some stuff for her favorite child...my brother but I don't worry about it. It's good to talk about the recovery process. I feel like a lot of my relatives and friends expect me to be full throatle after a week.

Eastern NC, a lot colder than we are used to, and windy so the kids stay in most days. I know what you mean about folks expecting you to be full go after a week, several of my friends have easy labors and quick recovery. I do not... never have!
I hate the favoritism of some parents! My little bro definitely comes before me. My folks brought me a meal... on my brothers schedule of course. Iím just glad I got to see my dad for a bit.
I think my bleeding is done, starting to feel on the mend rather than draining. But still not really functioning normal. I want to sleep all day! And my kids have decided to get up early and take shorter naps, ugh!! Lol, itíll all work out I know but being able to Ďtalkí about it helps.

Sorry about your dad. I hope you feel better soon. I know my doula said to do nothing for 21 days basically. I laughed. I was like, you know I have 5 kids now right? I have some weakness and fatigue and a pain in my side that comes and goes, but Iím feeling pretty good overall. I started walking again and trying to get back in shape. We are 4 weeks pp today.
