I'm wondering how you like NFP, hubby and I started using this method about 2 months ago [we're avoiding] but have only used it from CD 21 and up just to be sure there are no oopss, this month we had unprotected sex on CD 6, I'm not exactly sure when I O but it's some where around CD 14-17 so I know I can't get pregnant, but since 'm on CD 9 I'm wondering if it's still safe to have unprotected sex or do you think the chances would be too high?

I could very well be wrong, but it sounds like you might be relying on just the rhythm method (counting cycle days) which is not very reliable. So what method are you using and how did you learn? Are you experiencing any cm? At this point in your cycle you should be checking yourself for mucus at every trip to the bathroom.

I'm not sure I'm relying on the rhythm method, I do keep count of my cycles, I chart them on paper, only I don't have a BBT (it's not here in my country). I have to admit last month I didn't chart my cycle at all since I had such a busy month and was hardly home and this month I didn't check cm...o.k now I feel so dumb, I should be checking out this stuff. but I do know last month cm was really high on CD14 & CD15 so I think I O'd around those 2 days.

If you don't have any CM then you can BD all you want as long as you can tell the difference between seminal fluid and CM the next day, so Bding every other day is recommended so the seminal fluid can flush out and a correct CM observation can be made. You can do NFP with only CM observations and avoiding is good with them. You don't BD when you have any CM and when it goes past EWCM and dries up that is when ovulation should have happened and with 3 consecutive days of dryness you should be able to BD again unprotected. I wouldn't even consider that cycles are so similar to one another to use a calendar as a guide. I hope this helped.

NFP has worked very well for us.

It is absolutely essential to have proper training in how to chart and apply the rules for avoiding pregnancy, as making calculations from your previous cycles is not very accurate or reliable at all. If you need any help tracking down a class or instructor, just let me know and I'll see what training options are available where you are!
