What kind of phone or cell phone plans do you have? Do you actually use them?

We have a family share plan through Verizon. We have three phones on the plan, one for me, one for DH and one that stays with the boys Dad because we live in different states and it's how we stay in touch when they aren't with us here. We don't have a home phone (well, we do because it was cheaper to have it in the bundle but I can't even call the town over on it becuase it's a different area code ).

I have a family plan.. just me and my step-son. I am trying so hard to find some plan cheaper! They all run about $80 + tax and stuff..so $90 for cell phones is too much money for me. I'm thinking of going to 2 cell phones with two different plans, separate plans. I dunno yet.

I do have a land line, which is bare bones..I pay $20 for that.

We have a home phone with a lot of features...not sure of them all because we don't use them. It also includes 100 minutes of long distance which we never use either, but it is cheaper to have it set up that way.

We had 2 cell phones on our plan (we have 3 as of this weekend, but that is a long story). 500 minutes to share (we don't use many), free nights and weekends, plus I have unlimited calling to about 99% of the numbers in this area including land lines (all numbers that are carried by the company). The extra $10 that I pay for the free calling in the area has to be the best deal because I mostly use my phone when I'm out to call grandma who only has a land line.

We pay about $100/month for the phones together, but we also get a discount on our internet because we have them all bundled.

Home phone-almost free for the next year for bundling it with our internet/cable

Cell phones-2 for 85 ish per month. One MIL has...it was only gonig to save us 10 to drop the extra one whe nmy husband got his work one, so we just gave it to her to use since her home phone lines are terrible. But now that we have long distance on our home phone we may just drop them both and I'll do pay as I go...only for emergencies.

I have the "i use my work cell phone for free" program I used to pay $90 month for my Blackberry through Verizon. $59 minute plan plus $20 data package, plus taxes and fees. It was outrageous, so I asked my employer if she could take $20 out of my check every month and up the minutes on my work cell phone from 300 to 600. She did, but has never taken the $20 out of my check, which is nice. The service they use is Nextel.

We have a home line only because we could only get DSL in the boondocks. Had we been able to just transfer our cable high speed than I would have, but no such luck. Booooo. So, we pay $25-$30 (I don't remember) for the home phone for the basic of basic plans. No one ever uses the phone, but it brings me my internet and I cannot abandon it. Grrrr.

For cell phones, 4 of the 5 people in this house are on a family share plan with Verizon. Adam's girlfriend isn't, but I hear she may be soon. We share 2100 minutes, which sounds like a lot until you recall that my DH is a truck driver who only uses his cell phone for everything (business calls, directions, breakdowns, calling home, etc etc), and my cell is almost exclusively for business. So, part of it is deductible ... hooray! We used to be down near 1300 or so minutes, but DH kept going over and it was cheaper to up the plan than pay the overages. I think it runs us around $120 ... but divided 4 ways ...

Our land line is bundled with our DSL and we get both plus some phone services for about $63/month.

We have 2 cell phones on Cingular/AT&T that DH got for us through work. We've got way more minutes than we will ever use, because they roll over and most of our calls are nights and weekends (with free long distance). I think it's about $80/month for the 2.
