I don't know if I really belong in this forum yet...it's not technically my parent but I still can't believe that this is happening. My FIL has only 17% of one lung that functions. He's always been on o2 since I've known him and it seems that every year he gets a little worse. This time they told us that he has at the most 6 months because his organs are shutting down from the lack of oxygen. They also told us that he will never come home again. He will either be in the hospital or a nursing home until the end. My husband and I jsut had a daughter 9 months ago and I hate the fact that she will never be able to remember her grandpa...he calls her his "Little Muffin" And they adore each other. I guess I'm jsut looking for a little support for the coming Months. Thank you.

You certainly belong here! And you are not alone with wishing your LO had more time with a grandparent. My dad wanted to write letters to the kids and grandkids for special things like graduations and such. But he waited to long and the fog started creaping in, it made concentration to difficult. Ask your FIL to write letters to your LO, his personal words will mean the world to her.
Mom to 3 (1998, 2000, and 2009), step-mom to 1 (1995), two four-legged babies who bark, wife and full time student.
My days are busy, my house is messy, and my heart is full!
