If you could go back to before your parent died and do something differently what would it be? (other than keeping your parent alive, which I am sure we all wish we could do)

For me, I would have to say I would have made more videos. I really wish I had more photos and especially videos of Dad. The one very short moment that I have him on a video is so precious to me. I have watched it over and over again. I just wish I had more of him. Usually he was the one behind the camera so there aren't too many.

Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my new siggy!

More videos and pics, and more holidays, and asking her more questions on how to be a good mom

Lucky mother to five!

Help her depression. I would want her to start antidepressants so that I could get to know her the way she was on zoloft before she died. Pics and videos are still so very hard to watch...
my thanks to Claire1979 for the awesome siggy!!

I would have not been so stubborn and let him bring his young girlfriend when he had the oppurtunity to meet his grandson for the first time.

Thing that always sticks out...I wouldn't have gotten so upset the morning I dropped him off at the VA. I was so angry, it was like the 2nd day of school and I was going to be late. I just...stormed off.

I'd have gone home a lil more. I live an hour from my folks, and only get home a few times a year because I dont own a car. But in the last few years those visits were less and less because the dementia was just too hard for me to handle. I wanted my memories to be of dad, not the shell of a being he was becoming. But now I wish I'd have gone home a few times.

I'm lucky tho. The last time I saw him he said something to me. I stuck my tongue out and said "shut up dad". he said "no." I said "yes. he said "no" I said "shut up dad." he said "ok. Love you." to some that would sound like a bad exchange, but my father was a joker, and a royal pain in the keister.. it was totally right up his alley.

Gone to the hospital more. He wasn't even home for Angelica's first Christmas...adn while we all went to see him there I wish we would have taken the gifts and opened them with him that day so he could see it. And with My grandma...I wish I would have went to see her more. The month that she was in the nursing home was so hectic for me that I didn't get a chance to go see her.

I would have called and talked to him and taken my son to meet him instead of waiting on him to do it.
Thank you Zarziza for a beautiful siggy
