I just wanted to say hi. I am new here and my oldest son is 7 and I have been told that he has ADHD. He has seen his dr and was diagonised with a mild case of ADHD but his dr wanted to have his IQ tested. That alone showed why he seems like his ADHD is so bad. I have not put him on any meds and mostly because our doctor knows how I feel about using herbal/ natural methods before resorting to meds especially controlled meds like most ADHD meds are. I think that I belong here and glad taht I found the forum to help with advice on ADHD and to get through the rough days.

welcome!! I am Angie and my 10 year old Tyler is ADHD and has been on meds since he was 5.5. He is doing much better now but at first it was an awful struggle.
Good luck and look forward to getting to know you!

Hi, welcome.

Why did your DR want his IQ tested? My son had his IQ tested last spring when his behavior was out of control bad. He tested really high, at about 130 (100 is average) but it doesn't mean much when a 4 year old is tested. Apparently IQ tests are not reliable until kid are about 10. Anyhow it didn't help his behavior I do medicate him and he is doing so much better.
