I will be having my third c-section on Oct 2nd. Even though I have been through it twice already I am still very nervous. Has anyone else had three or more sections? We we orignaly thinking that this would be our last baby, but now we are not sure if we would like one more. My doctor has never told me you can only have a certian number of c-sections, but I am concerned that it could be to much on my body.

Hi! Welcome to this forum! We're happy to have you join us. I'm Stephanne, my son Samuel was born via unplanned c/s in Aug 06 and I'm expecting our second which will be a scheduled c/s. There are several who have had 3 c/s or more here. From what I've heard it all depends on the condition of your uterus (whether it's thinning) as to whether it's safe to have another c/s at any point. You can ask your dr. to check the condition of your uterus when he does this c/s to get an idea of whether another is advisable. As always it's up to you, you can't be stopped from having more children, kwim? I hope you stick around and hang out with us.

I will be having my 5th c/s in September. I didn't plan on this many but we got a surprise with this one. I also have a vertical scar from my first c/s, and it did thin out a lot during my second pregnancy, and opened a little during my 4th c/s, but otherwise they've all been pretty uneventful.

I am Christy. I am pg with my 3rd and I am due in December. This will be my 3rd section as well. My doc hasn't given me a number either. Though I am 36 and will have 5 total kids to pay for, so I might just be done.

Hello! Welcome to this forum! My name is Michelle and I had a c-section in April of 2006. I will be having a scheduled repeat c-section on November 14th. I am not nervous about it yet, but I'm sure I will be VERY nervous as the date grows closer. My OB did tell me that one of the downsides to ending up with a c-section delivery is that future pregnancies had a greater chance of repeat c-sections and the more sections a woman has, the more chances her uterus has to thin... but, having said that, there are plenty of women who have successfully given birth via c-section 4, 5, 6 times without complication. I know that this is my last pregnancy, so two c-sections will be it for me. I agree with the other poster though that you can always ask your OB to give you his/her opinion about how your uterus is holding up and whether or not future pregnancies is advisable. During the c-section, the OB takes out the uterus and gets a clear look at it, so I'm sure he/she would be able to give you their opinion about more c-sections.

Welcome to the board! Sorry I don't have any advice about the number of c/s as I've only had one. Glad you're here!
