Elective 1st - baby was frank breech and I was having low fluid issues so I didn't want to risk a version.

My 18hr labor with DD1 turned in to an emergency C/S when her HR started to consistently drop for no apparent reason. DS will be an elective C/S in a few weeks.

You left out an option. A crash c/s.

An emergency c/s is after labor has started. Crash c/s is when mother and/or baby is in immediate danger of dieing.
h2g2 - The Caesarean Section

I marked an ER c/s and elective. I hate calling it a ER c/s because it takes away from the seriousness of what happened.

My dd was a vaginal delivery
My ds was an emergency section - he was footling breech (only found out that day). Section was immediately scheduled for 2 days later but I went into labour that day and showed up at the hospital dilated to 9cm - I was rushed to surgery.

1st c/s was emergent/crash, whatever you want to call it . Not fun. A rush from the office to L&D and straight to the OR. The next 2 were elective, one scheduled, the other after labor started. First child was born vaginally.

Thanks Jaidynsmum!!

my 1st was an emergency after laboring for 10 hours. I tried for vbac with #2 and that failed as well. I was told both times that baby couldn't fit through the pelvis and my cervix both times did not dialte past 4. It's weird though because each labor was exactly the same, the same exact problems each time. Epi didn't work both times until they put in a 2nd one. Other pain relievers didn't work. My cervix did some weird thing where it stopped dilating and turned in on itself. Hard to explain but both times doc said it did this. First birth was 15 yrs ago so completely different doctor.
If I have anymore I will just go with c-section. After being told baby's head couldn't fit and my babies were only 6 pds 2 ounces and 2nd one was 6 pds 5 ounces I'm done going through the pain of labor just to have to recoup from c-section

dd15 born weighing 6 pds 2 ounces, 19 inches. 12-3-96
dd9 months born weighing 6 pds 5 ounces, 19 1/2 inches. 12-22-2011
Expecting baby #3 ANOTHER GIRL!!!!!!! woot woot
