Hi, I'm new to the forums, just found this site looking for support online. I had my first c-section 14 weeks ago, it was awful from the start. I could hardly walk for weeks, I had to use a step ladder to get in and out of bed, etc... the usual pains I would assume from a c/s.

Around 4 weeks after I got an infection, I've been on 2 rounds of anti-biotics and had to use baxtroban cream too, nothing worked. At about 8 weeks I went to clean out my incision and it had split open on the one side, about an inch...the other side has a small, deep hole. Now, it's been 14 weeks, I've gotten 4 applications of Silver Nitrate to help with the 'healing from the inside out' - I'm at the dr at least once a week...I just feel helpless, like this will never heal...14 weeks...I feel like I'm missing out on my daughters first few months...

Anyone else had an awful healing experience like this?

Wow sorry you had such a hard time, I have had 5 c-sections so far and never had any issues, I always left the hospital in 48 hours and felt good with in a week. I hope you feel better soon.

I would agree that this is not the norm. I have had 3 c-sections. My first had terrible complications (not the same as you have had) but my last two were a breeze. I am sorry you are going through so much.

That's terrible!!!! I was pretty good to go after like four weeks - my incision is still sore from time to time, six months later. I hear that you're never completely the same. I hope they can do something for your immune system to help healing -
