Hi I've been here before in 2010 when I had my last son Alex by c-section. I'm worrying already about my next surgery and I'm only 7 weeks pregnant!! My 2nd c-section recovery was great. But is number 3 in General harder and also I was thinking of getting clips put on my tubes. I'm not sure if the snip, tie and/ or put clips on. I was wondering if anyone else has had this done and whether it makes recovery slower or more painful.
Thank you cavewoman for my beautiful siggy!!!

I had a tubal ligation right after my 2nd c-section (cut not clips) and the recovery was quite a bit harder/more painful than my first. I was in some serious pain, and I have a high pain tolerance. So yes, be prepared for that and make sure you have help lined up for a week minimum. After my first c-section, I was up and doing stuff by the 2nd or 3rd day. My mom had taken a week off to help me, but decided to go back to work because I clearly didn't need the help. With the c-section/tubal combo operation, she was here helping me for a week, and I was sooo grateful to have her, because I was in serious pain.

Oh, one more thing! I don't know if your doctor mentioned this to you (I don't remember mine saying it - wish she had) but you have a greater chance of an ectopic pregnancy if your tubes are tied. And sure enough, I had one a year later. If I could turn the clock back, I would not have done it, and would make my husband get a vasectomy instead.
