I am so glad I found this forum, I am so confused. My baby is 12 months old and we are only BF once a day when he wakes up, around 5-6am. It has been like this for about 1 1/2 months. I still have not had my first ppaf back, but I have been feeling some ovulation signs the past two months. Well 2 weeks ago I had some opk's that I started using. They went from negative to blaringly positive, I decided to check my temp the next morning and had my usual post-o temp of high 97's, followed by 98's for about 10 more days. Then.......NOTHING! This is so frustrating, No AF, no BFP, temps are back down to 97.2. I really did not think it was possible to have positive opk's WITH a thermal shift and then not have AF. Is it that I am only gearing up to O, or do I not have an adequate lining to shed? Has this happened to anyone? If so about how long did your af finally come back after a few months of gearing up to O. I love nursing him and I do not want to wean him from my only little feed that we have in the morning, I just feel my clock ticking. I turn 39 in January and it took me a year to concieve him. Has anyone used meds to jump start things? I have used vitex in the past when trying to conceive before and it did nothing. Sorry this is so long, I appreciate any advice. Thanks!

OK, I am the worst when it comes to patience. I got my period today. I am so relieved. I feel like I can truly start tracking my fertility signs. Hopefully it won't take too long to become regular again. I will definately be visiting this site for advice!

I'm glad that AF has returned for you. Keep charting and sending lots of baby dust your way.

I am trying to remember off the top of my head because the first month we used OPKs (Sept) I ended up getting a + and got AF 10 days later. I do though believe if I remember correctly I showed signs of O in July and Aug (we decided to TTC in July because I got signs of O and figured I would get AF back). So it took me two months from the first sign of a possible O to get AF.

Sometimes your body thinks it's going to O, then changes it's mind. The opks pick up the hormone your body releases to cause Oing, so if you gear up to O, you'll get a +, but then may not actually release. I have a friend with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). If you don't know, it causes cysts on the ovaries and can mess with Oing. She can't use opks because her body will gear up and release LH, then never actually O. I hope you regulate soon! I know how frustrating it can be to not be regular. I had a 34 day cycle my 2nd or 3rd cycle after AF finally came back. I didn't O until day 20! I hope you have better luck!
