I am completely new to this whole OPK world, this is my first month, my question is; do the test lines get darker as you get closer to O? Today my test line is much darker but still not as dark or darker than the control line. I just want to make sure I am not missing a positive. Thanks!

Some people see a progression in their lines; others will have a negative one hour and a blaring positive the next. It will just depend on your person pattern. I think there is more benefit to using OPK's for several months to figure out what your pattern is. I, personally, don't get much of a fade-in, I just go from negative one day to blaring the next. I have also seen women who can easily predict when they will be approaching O becuase their OPK's get progressively darker.

I was having this same problem - I would get progressively darker lines, but the first month i did it, I never got one that was as dark or darker. My ObGyn suggested using the Clearblue Easy digital - I have this month - and that made all the difference! No guessing! I used the strips alongside the digital this month to judge what i was seeing on the strips, and i found that the strips were just not that good. I got a clear positive on the CB Digital, for the past two days, and the strips still didn't look completely positive. the gradation of darkness was ever so slight - I just feel that I couldn't really be that accurate with it.
also, My strips say to wait 4 minutes, and that definitely didn't work. I had to wait 10, really to see for sure.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather spend a little extra on the CBDigital to be sure of when the right time is, rather than guess. DF and I used strips last two months and I really think I was jumping the gun - so we didn't get preggo (we tired ourselves out from BD too early, because i thought i had a positive OPK too soon. So I'm using digital from now on.

Hope this helps, and BD to you!!

Oh and yesterday AM I tested with both CBD and the strips and got a negative on both. I tested again yesterday evening, and the strip was completely light (even lighter than strip from day before!), while the CBD gave me a smiley! Another smiley this AM, strip (after 10 minutes) looked dark, but still not as dark as I would have expected. After the 4 minute mark, which they say to wait, it looked completely negative still. I'm not wasting any more money on those strips.
