ok i know i haven't posted in like forever, but I thought i would ask you ladies some questions.

last march (2011) i did a newborn session that included a free 8x12 print.

The mum had placed an order of 30+ images on disc, but didn't pay, even after all the email reminders I sent her (i never sent the disc if you are wondering).

anyway she email's me now, a year on, wanting the images.

1. would you still give her the free print (i'm thinking hell no, as she never placed an order, even for the free print).

2. i'm no longer offering images on disc's. would you make her the exception, or would you give her an alternative (like a photo book).

just thought I would get your opinons.

If she had signed a contract with you explaining what she'll be having, I would give her what she ordered. The print and I would give her the disc.

If not... I think I would charge her for the print, but give her the disc anyway.

I hope she at least paid for the shooting session o_O

I agree, if you signed a contract, honor it. If you hadn't, I would maybe send her a nice email explaining that your stuff has changed in the last year and you're no longer offering CDs and that the free 8X10 print offer has expired or something like that. I wouldn't be hard headed, people will continue to come back to you if you offer good customer service so try to work with her.

yes she did sign a contract, but it is stated in the contract that if she doesn't order in her order period and the prices goes up, she pays the higher price.

also the free print had an expiry date, and that was back in April 2011.

I know have to open her freaking gallery again because she gave me position numbers! and not the photo number.

far out some people don't read.

I would up the price and sell her the disc.. That way you are honoring your contract and she is not getting the best of the situation, I am not saying double your prices, maybe charge her an additional $75 for the delay..

I'm sure she's thrilled that she still got the free print, and really, a 8x12 is cheap for you, so as long as she pays for the stuff this time, I think it was a win-win!
