is 'exposure' just the settings that you have your aperture and shutter speed set at, or is is something completely different.. Like I said I'm super new at this, and yes I have a super cheap camera, but I do have the ability to mess around with that kind of stuff, so I've been reading on the internet, and can't figure this out.. on my cam, I can change the exposure.. and I can change the aperture... am I missing something?

sorry guys.. I've just been looking at all your photos and AM SOO IMPRESSED, and now I am determined to figure this out.

Thank you aprilmiracle for a BEAUTIFUL siggy!!!

Oh man Kelly, I'm still working on grasping the techincal side of it as well, I've been reading when I can, but I haven't gotten far enough.

Hopefully one of the girls who DOES have a handle on it can help you and explain it!

You've got it right, exposure is just the combination of your aperature and shutter speed settings. Getting started in photography does mean wading through tons of technical jargon!! Enough to make your head spin. But, you don't have to grasp it all at once and its easiest to learn by just experimenting IMO.

Well its not a silly question. The only way to learn all the "jargon" and technical things is to ask. Have fun playing, its the best way to learn.
