When DH & I were away we spent a lot of time together, and in fact pretty much every moment was spent together. We had some really good discussion during our down time about what to do, do we try again, etc.

Since we got to the resort late at night is was dark and so we didn't get a chance to explore anything, but the first chance we had we went directly to the beach the next morning to see the sunrise and watch the waves (I just love water and could sit and watch it for hours).

Well, when we got to the beach there was a huge rainbow. I took a picture of it because I rarely see rainbows but also because of what a rainbow represents. To me it's a reminder that God never breaks his promise and we may have to weather a few storms but if didn't weather the storm we wouldn't have a chance to see the rainbow after. There is a calm after the storm and I truly believe that God is in control. Seeing that rainbow brought a smile to my face because I knew that I would find a peace.

Well...that rainbow helped me to have a good week, but would you believe that as I was walking out of the little airport in Cuba and while standing on the tarmat getting ready to board the plane I saw another rainbow (and a double rainbow at that!!!) off to the side of the plane! It's like I began and ended my vacation with a rainbow and it once again reconfirmed that I will find a peace. I don't know when that might be but I'm already starting to feel hope again (but I'll confess its mixed with worry) for the future.

So now when I'm having my down moments I just look at the pictures that I have of the rainbows and remind myself that God is in control and never breaks his promise. He will take care of me and I too will weather this storm and have my rainbow at the end. I may not like the outcome but I won't be alone.

Thank you Claire1977 for my adorable siggy
For the special little one in your life!

That was such a beautiful experience, I'm almost in tears. We'd been content and very thankful for the one child we have, even gave away all the baby stuff last summer after he turned 4. In January, God told me that we needed to have another child. What I missed was that He didn't tell me how that journey would go. After our first loss in April (which DS was convinced was a girl), I named her Iris. Iris means rainbow, which like you I recognize as God's promise that we'll get through the storms and be greatly blessed.

That blessing may not be what we'd originally envisioned (perfect pg, healthy baby, etc.), but it will be so much more. I've always been scared of having a child with major health or ability issues, adopting/fostering a child, or not actually having another child. But I see now, which I wouldn't have seen without our losses, that God will get us through whatever is in store for us and that I do have the strength to handle the most painful of situations and survive.

I see that same strength in each and every one of you on this board. I hate what we've all had to go through and wish no one ever had to go through it, but I can see that it's made me stronger and more open for whatever is in store for me next. I may not like it or understand it, but I will survive it.
Do not sorrow; the joy of the Lord is your strength." Neh. 8:10

I am so glad you had such a nice trip & glad it has helped you feel some hope & peace. We all need to find a little more of that. I know your still on your journey...but as 4iris said...I also think that we need to remember that we are in the destination every moment...ad it isn't some place we are headed to - but where we are standing. Every day before today was leading me to this moment...and these moments are leading me to tomorrow & life is what happens while we are busy trying to make plans. It is hard to remember that even with the best laid out plans...&*(^ happens..and then we are just where we are & perhaps (bad or good) where we supposed to be all along. I too have faith that somehow this will all be okay - that I will be more because of it - I jsut wish I didn't have to. I am sure we ALL do.
