Hi everyone. Let me introduce myself. I have a son Ryan who is 15 months who just today was diagnosed with early autism. If that wasn't enough of a blow I'm on my 3rd miscarriage which I also just found out about today. I have been doing fertility treatments to try to get pregnant. I'm just praying now that this isn't an ectopic. I guess today I just feel like why is life so awful? How can I go through another ttc, and possible loss, now with helping my special needs son? Just wanted to vent. Thanks.

I'm so sorry!! That is a lot to be hit with in one day! I agree with you. Why is life so awful? I wish it wasn't. I wish we could all get the babies that we all so long for. If you need to, take some time until you try again, if you want to. I hope if you try again, you get a sticky baby.

*HUGS* I'm sorry to hear that you've got so much on your plate all at once.

My DSS is either Autisic or has Aspergers, his mom is reluctant to have him tested because she doesn't want the answer. It can be a challenge to have a child who has needs. But the rewarding moments do make you forget the hard parts a little bit each time.

Welcome. So sorry for your losses. Has your doctor mentioned recurrent loss testing yet? If not, ask about it. A lot of causes of RPL are easily treated.

I'm also sorry to hear about your DS's diagnosis. I must agree with with Ash, though. Autism really allows you to appreciate the little things. It was such a big deal when my close friend's little one said "I love you" for the first time at age 6. It was a big deal when he called me on his own and even left a message. (She had no clue he'd called. ) And an even bigger deal when at age 7 he pooped on the potty in Target. (Due to a traumatic experience when he was a toddler, he has never been fully potty trained...despite efforts.)

Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my siggy!

I'm so sorry for your loss and that you had sad news about your son today. I suppose in a way it's good that he was diagnosed so early, so that you can start with early intervention (my apologies if that's not the correct term). My nephew has autism and although he wasn't diagnosed until age 3 or so, the special schooling he's receiving has really worked wonders with him! Plus he is such a great kid, he always cracks me up with his uncanny observations/perspective and his amazing savant skills (like looking at the back of a CD cover - one he'd never seen before - once, hiding it behind his back, and reciting every word from memory... when he was 4!)

I hope you discover what is happening with the miscarriages and that this is your LAST. They are the worst. You're among friends here. The ladies on this board have been my rock and I couldn't have gotten through my losses without them. Vent away! Have you done any testing? I'm assuming yes since you mentioned fertility treatments.
