I told you guys yesterday that I was 6w4d and bleeding...well I went into the doctor today and after having my levels checked I found out that they were negative. So they think I must have had a checmical pregnancy. He told me that I will need to get a referral to a fertility specialist next month to start testing to see what's wrong with me. I'm just so lost and confused right now. This is my 3rd miscarriage, and I have no idea what could even be wrong with me. My 2nd miscarriage was at 16 weeks, so I know that my body is able to get past the first trimester, or at least it was able to once. Sophie looked perfectly healthy at her autopsy, so we're not at all sure what could be wrong. What can I expect when I go to the RE? What kind of tests will they run on me? I'm VERY nervous...

*Thank you so much to Jaidynsmum for my beautiful siggy!*

I'm so sorry for your loss! I'm glad you found this board. Several of the ladies have been to RE's and should have plenty of information for you. Some of them won't be on until this evening, though. Hang in there, sweetie! We'll be here for you.

Thanks, I'm glad I found this board too. I actually found it a few weeks ago and forgot about it but rediscovered it last night, just in the nick of time it would seem. This is by far the best miscarriage site I've been too, and I hope that it will provide some source of courage and healing for me. So thank you very much for your sweet reply.

I definitely know how this is. The not knowing is what makes it the hardest I think.

I am so sorry for you loss. I have technically had 3 m/c's as well but one pg was twins so I've lost 4 babies in my book. I been through the gammet of tests from an RE so I'd be open to talking wiht you about it at length if you ever need to chat. You'll find on this site most of us have seen an RE. They'll probably start out with blood tests to rule out any genetic issues. If all that comes out ok they may do a HSG test. This is where they shoot dye into your ueterine cavity to look at the shape of it, make sure no abnormalities exisit, that the tubes aren't blocked. If they have further questions or want to explore a bit more closely your RE may schedule a hsteroscopy...this is where they put a little camera inside and take a good look around. For that one I was put to sleep so no discomfort but the HSG was a little unconfortable.
Your dr may also want to do a semen anaylsis on your DH to see if there's any issues there.
Take care of yourself...try to remain calm. We're with you every step of the way.
Love to you during this difficult time,
