The 1st Dr said 3 months after the first loss (and quite honestly emotionally I am not sure I was ready at 3 months)...the 2nd one she again told me 3 months, I went to an RE & after the 3rd he said we could try right away & I still waited...actually I got pg this time on accident, so we never did go back to TTC.

I think it varies by Dr's & I think some of the wait time is for your heart to heal more so than your body.

My Dr. also told me to wait 3 cycles, but honestly I got pg each time while I was not ttc. My baby boy was conceived just 6 weeks after my last m/c and D&C. As for AF, I think it works differently for everyone. Mine was very regular and I would have it 28 to 30 days after each m/c, but I have heard some say they have taken months to return to normal.

I was told we could try for another baby as soon as I stopped bleeding.

I didn't have AF between our first and second losses. AF after the second loss took 5 weeks post d&c. Doc said 5-8 weeks was a normal wait after the surgery, but it depends on your body.

As for how long to wait, every doc is different. Average recommendation seems to be 1-3 cycles. Like Beckie said, your emotional healing is really more important than waiting for your body to heal. Your body won't get pg after a loss until it's ready to.

I was told 2-3 months after my 16 week loss, but most doctors will say 1 cycle if you had a first trimester m/c. I was told not to TTC at all after my last one, until I can get into see the RE...

*Thank you so much to Jaidynsmum for my beautiful siggy!*
