Hi! I'm new to this forum, but I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Charity and I'm currently 35 weeks pg. My husband and I are going to use the bradly method for this birth.
I mostly came on here for some support and maybe get some more courage before our daughter makes her entrance. I've gotten nothing but negative feedback when ppl hear we are doing natural childbirth, which is very irritating. So hopefully I can meet some new friends here and get better prepared for the birth ahead!

well- you definatly will get positive reactions here! I'm such a fan of Bradley- it's so much education- not about distraction tactics, just about embracing your labor. My Bradley clients are all so well prepared.

I'm cheryl- I'm a birth doula, and a student midwife. My DH and I are ttc- we've had medical assistance too. It's so nice to see someone who had a medically assisted conception go for a non-medically assisted birth. Go you!

What are you planning for your birth?

Welcome! You don't have much longer to wait. You must be so excited! I'm pregnant with my first and 16 weeks along today. I too am going to take Bradley classes to help me prepare for natural childbirth. I don't personally know any one else that has chosen this method, so I know what you mean about the negative feedback and weird looks. I am glad you decided to join us on this board.

Welcome! I'm Andrea, pregnant with my second (32 weeks).
I think that having a natural birth is a lot about being educated about what is giong on and the advantages and disadvantages to all interventions. Most people simply hear "natural birth" and think of pain. Pain scares people, so when there is a method of pain relief available, why not take it, right? If you haven't already, I would also reccomend reading a book on natural childbirth. I've been reading "The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth" and have gotten so much helpful information from it.

Hi and welcome! My name is Jennifer (26) and I am engaged. DF and I are just getting back into TTC after a short break! I'm very set on having a natural childbirth and have already been doing as much research as I can....and as soon as I mention it I get the look of horror and negative feedback. The ladies here are very supportive! I am sure that you will have an amazing birth! Congrats and good luck!

*Thank you kiliki for the siggy!*

Welcome Charity! So excited that it won't be long until you LO is here. Sorry you are getting such negative feedback. I know most of us understand because we get the same thing. But you'll get nothing but support and encouragement from us here. I'm looking forward to learning more about you and reading your successful natural birth soon.

Hi! Thanks for all the positive feedback ladies! I'm really excited about the birth and so is my husband. That's the great thing about the Bradly method, it teaches you to embrace the birth and the pain, but includes the father so much.
For this birth we plan to labor at home for as long as possible, I don't want to go in until I *know* I have too. The hospital we have to go to is only 2 blocks away, but only 5% of the patients there give birth naturally, which has me a little freaked out. I don't want to go in too soon just for them to try and push an epi on us. Even the natural childbirth class we took thru the hospital, only 2 out of the 25 of us were planning on trying naturally. So I'm not a big fan of the odds, that's why we think we'll do better at home then there.
I look forward to getting to know everyone better!
