So last week, a character on The Office had a baby -they didn't show the birth though.

The good news is it was an all natural waterbirth!!!

The bad news is that everyone thought it was totally gross, especially because they discussed afterbirth floating around. Also the character is a total nutjob. Of course, it's a comedy show, so of course they're going to take the joke.

I actually saw this weird interview in some pregnancy magazine of the character talking about how she wanted a natural birth as if she were a real person.

I haven't really watched The Office but I'm glad to hear that NCB is getting some promotion from it. When I tell people I want a waterbirth I get the same thing "Ewww you're going to be in there with stuff floating all around you, that's gross, you're nuts, blah blah blah...." Like you said, it's a comedy so they had to put that spin on it. And unfortunately I think so many people think that way.

*Thank you kiliki for the siggy!*

I saw it yesterday too. At least they brought up the subject and Jan isn't too much of a "crunchy granola" type to just pass it off on that as to why she did it.

I saw it. While I'm glad they attached it to a non-crunchy character, Jan definitely is a nutjob. In any event, it's nice to see it at least being talked about in the main stream.
