Do you plan to/did you/or do you plan to make your own baby foods?

We made most of Bryson's baby food but when we went out of town or went out for the whole day we'd always have some jars with us just in case we needed it.

Along the same lines, do you make all of your own foods or do you eat lots of foods already prepared?

We have the great book called "The Vegetarian Mother's Cookbook" but we haven't used it nearly as much as I would like to. It's for pregnant and lactating women so it gives lots of great information on what to eat and when and I really love it. I should really be cooking from it much more often. I confess that much of the time we are eating lots of frozen veggie foods during the day at least. We try to have dinners be more fresh and healthy.

I will make all my baby food, and I probably won't start baby on it till over 6 months. I do a lot of "from scratch" cooking for myself/rob as well

I should check out that book. I am hoping to make all my own baby food. I cook 90% of my food, at least from scratch, and until i got pregnant and was exhausted, it was 100% from scratch! I do not use a microwave, so that cuts out most prepared foods i would eat.

I made all of Courtney's baby food, only about half of Nola's I made, I just didn't have as much time the second time around.

we rarely eat from scratch, though I'm desperately trying to change that!

We're getting rid of our nukeavator when we move as well, and I'm so looking forward to it.

I would love to make my own baby food, with Nicholas we had so much going on, with moving and deaths in the family that I never got the chance but hopefully I'll get a chance to at least do it some of the time this time around.

I love to eat things from scratch but unfortunately a lot of the time the food that we eat is pre-prepared/boxed/canned food.

I absolutely plan on making my own baby food. It seems so simple and so much better to give baby something you know is pure and without any preservatives or other yucky things.

I will give it a whirl this time around with the baby food.

I cook almost all our food "from scratch." After taking my nutrition classes in school and learning how awful processed foods are, our diets changed A LOT a couple years ago.

I am definitely planning on it. My goal is to exclusively breastfeed for the first 6 months and then introduce homemade baby food.

I was going to, but didn't get around to it initially. Then Tanith decided she wanted to eat what everybody else was eating instead of some weird mush, so we pretty ended up straight to table food. If this one is a little more open to baby mush, I will likely make it. I try ot make most of our meals. I try to make a week or two meal plan and only buy what I need form that. Then I am not so tempted to buy processed foods or use them. And sometimes I will make extra of stuff that freezes well so I have homemade frozen meals! Like the stuffing for my stuffed green bell peppers freezes really well, so I make a full batch even though we only use half. It only takes about 20 min to get it reheated and the peppers steamed.SO easy and yummy!

We made most of our own with my last 2. Poor #1, I had no idea about any of this when I had him!
We used "Super Baby Food" and loved it! For the most part, no food until 6 months. Although I had one that just wanted to nurse so often that I did give her some grains once a day at around 5 months.

As for our home cooking. Usually, we eat mostly from scratch. We don't have a microwave and really don't miss it. One of my DDs is wheat intolerant (not the one that got the food early ) so that forces us to cook most of what we eat. Since I've been pregnant, it's been REALLY hard! I don't want normal food at normal times. My DH has been wonderful about stepping up and cooking dinner. We eat a lot of the same stuff over and over, but it is such a huge help! We also have been eating out a lot more than usual! I'm hoping that after baby is here, my motivation will return!

I guess I'm the oddball who had the best intentions of making my own baby food but I ended up buying it. She went pretty quickly to tablefoods though, and I make most of our stuff from scratch, but not everything. I'm sure it'll be the same w/ this baby.
