I'm having a hospital birth and I want to make sure that my birth plan is right.. help me not forget anything!

1. I am going to do this drug free. I do not want the word epi said in front of me, nor do I want drugs suggested to me. I have a code word set with DH that I will let him know if I need anything. If I don't mention drugs, please don't mention them to me.

2. I would prefer no interventions such as pitocin or breaking of my waters. Anything is to be discussed with both my husband and myself before being carried out.

3. After Jamesen is born, my husband would like to cut his cord. We want to wait to cut it until it stops pulsing.

4. I do not want my baby to leave my sight unless in an emergency. If he needs a check, it can be done in my room or it can wait until I'm ready to go with him.

I feel like I'm missing stuff. can you give me suggestions?? Thank you!

I included info about how I did not want Lily to have the vitamin K shot, eye ointment, etc. I also put that I wanted to get into any position I wanted during labor/delivery. I wanted minimal use of external fetal monitoring.

I used this site to come up with mine and it was really helpful: Birth Plan

actually your birth plan sounds great- it sounds really successful! Doctors and nurses typically do not want to see pages of birth plans, and they'll never have time to read all that, so keeping it down for 4-6 bullet points is perfect.

The things I make sure that my clients include in their birth plans are labor and birthing preferences, pain management preferences, unexpected circumstances and newborn care. You have all four of those covered.

I am proudly a homebirthing, excluively breastfeeding from the tap, constantly babywearing, bed sharing, attached mama to a high needs baby. He is a part time diaper-free baby!
