Oh yeah, I forgot you were going to do a lotus birth. Can't wait to hear about it. Are you going to do anything with the placenta?

b/c of how everything went we weremn't able to do a lotus birthing.

I am still processing and haven't written a birth story, but he had the true cord knot, which led to some degree of reduced blood flow and nutrients for him- causing his small size. And I may have had a partial placental abruption... it's abnormal for a placenta to be birthed that quickly, literally 30seconds or less after Noah. He also had some distress in 2nd stage, which is why we didn't do a waterbirth- I got out to push him out. I had to do more pushing and less breathing then I'd wanted, but it was what he needed. He was more then ready to come out! I had oxygen while pushing, and so did he (once born of course) we were happy and lucky to be able to hold him right away, and I gave him the oxygen myself, which was nice. Since he needed to be seperated from the placenta, and b/c it came so soon and had the knot we clamped/cut it pretty soon after birth. Maybe our next LO will be able to have a lotus birthing.

We did do placenta prints/art, and it's in the fridge waiting for me to inspect it. I thought about doing encapsulation, but haven't been motivated enough... lol! WE'll plant it I think, and I'm going to dry out and keep the knot.
