I think I'm going to do layering...thermals underneath clothes. I haven't thought of boots yet, but I should.

Just looked at Ugg's site and they have cute little baby boots and booties.....those would definitely keep their feet warm! And you can buy stuff to spray on the outside and waterproof them...

we generally layer - long sleeve onesie, long sleeve tee, fleece jacket. My kids have always been fine even with our single degree temps in winter. If we are going to play outside we bring along a thicker jacket though.
Ditto on the safety thing. I'm grabbing some fleece at Walmart to make one that has an elastic band around the outside and a zipper on the front. That way it can go over, then unzip to get baby in and out. And of course a place for their face lol.
