Christine was the student midwife you attended my birth. At first she had this deer in the headlights look but a second later and she remember me and my name plus Kate's! She is so sweet! She is graduating this June from the same school I hope to apply to. I asked her what she is going to do after graduation and she is moving to Canada! I guess (some of you up north might be able to atest to this) that Canada has included midwifery care in the state/gov health program and there is a huge demand for midwives.

We were also talking about how Bastyr is the first in the country to offer a degree (either a Master in Science of Midwifery or a combo Bach/Masters depending on how many credits you are coming to the table with). She and the university/midwife community here is really hoping that having the degree will really open doors into the hospital setting for direct entry midwives. I really hope this is the case! How awesome would that be???

Thank you Kiliki for my wonderfull siggie!
