I read in a few places that you should not get over 10,000 iu of Vitamin A a day when you are pregnant.

However, in my normal diet I find that I get a large amount (today I had 8,750 IU) and then my prenatal vitamins have another 4,000 iu. So that puts me way over.

Do you guys know anything about this? Should I be worried? Should I switch to just taking Folic Acid?

it depends on the kind of vit A. Beta-Carotene, the vit A found in carrots, can be processed out eaily by the body. It's the other kind of vit a that can be dangerous. Whatever is naturally in your diet is usually fine.

Ditto. If its naturally in your diet through fruits/veggies etc, you're fine. If you're taking it in supplements over that amount then I'd worry. Your prenatal alone likely isn't putting you in a dangerous range.
