Hello all! I'm newly pregnant- about 6 weeks (doctor's appointment in 2 days for a more exact figure!).

I was never one of those girls to dream about having a big wedding or anything like that, but I have always dreamed I'd have a natural birth. In a hospital, but no pain meds! I'm 30 years old, first baby, and have been imagining this for years!

Now that I'm actually pregnant, I'm a pretty nervous that I'll wimp-out and ask for meds! I just found out my mom was in a labor with my sister for 36 hours with no meds! That gives me hope.

So scary! Thanks for all the inspiration!

Welcome and congrats on your pregnancy! NCB is not as horrible as a lot of people make it out to be. It depends a lot on your mindset and preparation. I used Hypnobabies and really credit it for keeping me calm and collected during my birth. I've heard really good things about the Bradley method too.
