For those who have had a NCB, what did you LOVE about your birth? Women hear so much negativity, let's share the positive!

Oh god everything! Brylies was physical and hunters was mental and I definitely had some low points, but when they were over I was like "really? I whined about that? It was awesome!!!"

I think with Brylie one of my favorite moments was when I reached down and touched her head while I was pushing. I hadn't planned on doing that but it was so instinctual and amazing.

With hunter my favorite moment was probably when I was having a contraction at Applebee's and my server almost passed out when I told him I thought I was in labor. It was hilarious. Probably hearing brylie say "MomMy you had my babyyyyyy" when hunter popped out was my favorites moment if his actual birth

I also liked with brylie how my husband was so intune to me and with hunters I liked how I labored almost 100% on my own and how strong I realized I was.

With Bryson, I loved that feeling after he was born of knowing I pushed out 9 lbs 10 oz on pitocin. It was far from easy, but man, I felt like super woman. With Emory, I loved that I was in denial for so long and was already 7-8 cm by the time I got to the birth center. I also loved that the midwife didn't even have to check my cervix with him and knew instinctively just by listening to me that it was time for me to push. That still amazes me.

I labored natural for about 10 hours, then started pitocin (Started to be medically needed) despite not wanting to. I managed another 7 hours with no pain meds on pitocin.

I wanted a natural birth completely, but she was asynclitic, which was preventing me from progressing and I needed the help.

Anyway, avoiding the epidural was extremely painful, but it made me feel in control, proud, and like I had a sense of accomplishment. If I can do it for nearly 18 hours, and half of that on pitocin, I believe it is doable for anyone that wants to.

I loved that the births were MINE. Our last two were born at home unassisted, nobody to tell me how to move (or not to), when to push, when to breathe. Nobody to tell me I couldn't eat or drink or walk or even get up to use the bathroom. I loved not having my lady parts on display under a spotlight, being able to half-squat and get as comfortable as possible rather than pushing on my back- so much easier, no cutting or tearing.

I loved being able to get outside my own head and dig down deep, then go even deeper and then emerge a new woman and a new mother. There is nothing to compare to that experience, and it was totally lacking from my births where there were hospital interventions.

I loved feeling "normal" right after giving birth. No catheter, no numbness. I showered quickly after birth.
And of course, I feel extremely proud of myself so doing it without drugs.

I love the primal, EMPOWERED, Super-Woman feeling! and the ability to be so in-tune and aware of what's going on in my body and with my baby. I feel like each labor and birth is such a precious journey into motherhood for that unique child, and going natural helped give me confidence in motherhood; I conceived, grew and birthed that baby all on my own!
I also love how strong my babies are - watching them crawl to the breast and move their head/neck to position themselves to latch on and nurse - It's just amazing!

I loved feeling completely in control and so powerful after my births. It was that feeling of "Yes, I just DID that, all by myself!"

i love that I was actually present for my natural birth. With my first I was induced for pre-eclampsia and the medication made me feel like I was extremely drunk. I couldnt concentrate, i couldnt even see straight. I dont also dont remember many details of my medicated birth all I remember is feeling like it was going on forever and it was horribly painful and I didnt know what was happening. I remember all of my natural birth.

Pushing! That felt the best and really was my favorite part. I'm sad it only took like 5 pushes. After that whole labor I had geared myself up to push for an hour. Nope.

Oh and the ending with my baby. What a high!

I agree with all the above ladies.

Afterbirth being able to get up immediately, and feel everything is amazing. There is just such a peaceful feeling to it. I agree, it does give you confidence. I can't imagine being told, "okay now it's time to push". I've always known when it's tiime to push

amazing experiences!
