Hi, I'm Alana. I just found out that I'm pregnant with #4 this Monday. I have 3 little boys, ages 5, 3 and 16 months. DS1 was a hospital birth. My water broke at 37wks and I had pitocin and an epidural. DS2 was an induced hospital birth. My bp was high, so they induced me and I had an epidural at 39wks. DS3 was a natural hospital birth at 41wks 3days. I was hoping to go naturally, but even if I wanted to have a medicated birth, it all happened too fast! I was in labor for less than 2 hours with him.
This go around we are hoping for a home birth, not only because I think I'd be more comfortable, but because my last labor was so quick and they are just getting quicker and quicker with every baby, I just feel more comfortable preparing to have baby at home where I don't have to worry about waiting for someone to come over to watch our other 3 and then worry about making it to the hospital on time. I am planning on calling a couple of midwives next week. Is that a good time to call (5wks)? I've always dealt with OBs, so I'm not sure if it's the same or not.
Thanks for posting in the July DDC! I've been around JM for a few years and I didn't even realize there was a board for this. I'm looking forward to getting to know other ladies and learning a lot more!

Welcome and thanks for joining us! We have a very similar birth history! Hospital inductions with high interventions for my first two. Very fast and easy natural hospital birth for my third, and nice peaceful home birth for my fourth. Looking forward to getting to know you!
