My RE's nurse called that my lab results came back and I do NOT have immunity to Rubella. So I have to go get the vaccine today or tomorrow and AVOID conception this month. How wild is that?! Do I even know how to do that anymore?!

I'm bummed because Thomas was going to be an April baby, so a part of me wanted to get pregnant with another April baby. And now I definitely won't be pg a whole year after I got pg with him. I guess all I can hope for now is that I'm pg before his loss date in September.

So no Clomid and I think I will just wait until next cycle for the HSG. As much as I REALLY want to know the results, I know that the HSG increases your chances of getting pregnant, so I'd rather do it when I can actually try.

Anyone else have to wait because of a Rubella vaccination? It just seems like such a "waste" of a month now, but there's no nothing I can do about it.

Hey girl I would talk to some ladies at the choosing no to vax board first. I personally wouldn't get it. Many women our age are "not immune" to that. I was told when I was getting vaxes to go overseas that it typically only lasts 15 yrs.... My sis has been vaxed 3x as an adult & her titers STILL come back with no immunity...but I highly doubt she is not immune. If you look into all of it & still want to do it - go for it. But I would just recommend checking it out thoroughly before taking their word on it that it is necessary.

Beckie, I dug around and read a little more after I saw this. I'm not exactly pro vaccine (I will probably selectively and delay vax with my future kiddos) so I don't relish the thought of getting it. But I feel like I'm having to choose the lesser of two evils.

Knowing the birth defects it can cause and the risk of miscarriage PLUS the fact that I work at a hospital, I just can't risk getting rubella, so I'm going to get the vax. It's one of those decisions that I hate to have to make because there is no right or wrong so I can only hope I'm doing what's best.

With that said, if I were to get tested again after getting the vax and it STILL showed I had no immunity, I would not be getting the vax again.
