Monday, the 21st, I had an apt @ 9:45. When I went back my BP was 140/95 which my Dr was not happy with and said she had no choice but to send me to L&D. Got up there around 10:30 and was hooked up & my BP was fine, Dr must have scared me :-P or Zoe just wanted to come out.

Dr decided she would induce me and I was ok with that, we had discussed it in office and she said I was favorable, I was 3cm and 50%.

I go back to my delivery room and the nurse that put my IV in should NOT be a nurse!!!! Got me hooked up to the pitocin and the monitors and we were on our way. I was having contractions but not feeling them, thought it was all going to be a piece of cake!

Around 9:40pm Dr came in and broke my water, I HEARD it pop, not something I expected. I also didn't expect there to be so much and come out full force like it did and kept coming.

Within seconds the contractions were unbarable and I was crying for the epi. I had to wait in line. I tried so hard not to scream, so I stuck my head in the pillow. Poor DH had no idea what the heck to do.

I think the guy finally got in my room around 11 to put the epi in, in the mean time they turned the pitocin down so I wasn't as uncomfortable, which helped. The dude that did the epi came in and laughed at me because my head was buried in pillows, not funny dude! I was afraid I wouldn't be able to sit still during the epi. This is the part I was the most afraid of and it was the easiest. The numbing shot was next to nothing and the second numbing shot was nothing. Felt the cathedor(sp??) going past a certain point which was a crazy weird feeling. The nurse and the dude were talking away and I said "medicine???" and the nurse told me he wasn't just standing back there talking

I laid down and was going to try to sleep a little bit and I may have, but I'm not sure. Around 1245am I started feeling pains again and called my nurse. I was for sure that stupid epi wasn't working and I was mad. She said she was going to check me because she was sure I was ready and sure enough I was. I looked at her in complete shock, it happened fast.

At 2:13am on November 22 Zoe was born. I have 2 2nd degree tares. She handled everything great and so did I. It was such a weird feeling when she was coming out, emotionally and physically. Oh and she tried to come out with her hand over her face, that was fun

She weighed 7lb 2oz and was 20 inches long. We came home yesterday morning.

Nursing was a challenge the first day because I was so tired and my IL's wouldn't leave the hospital so I could sleep. But we are doing good now. I couldn't be more in love.
