Annabel Louise was born on May 22, 2014 at 35 weeks. She was 4 lbs 11 oz and 17 inches long. She is perfect and thriving! We had a 5 day stay in the NICU and took her home yesterday evening.

I was put on bed rest last week due to bleeding and that I went back to the hospital Thursday morning because I started getting back pain with my Braxton hicks. I had started dilating and by the afternoon I was holding steady at 3cm, fully effaced with a bulging bag of waters. After bleeding and passing small clots all day it was decided baby girl needed to come out. She was frank breech so I had to have a c-section. It was the right decision, when they opened me up they saw that I had no amniotic fluid left - even though my waters never broke and according to an u/s the day before I had only slightly low levels.

At 10:32 pm, Annabel came out with little squaks and cries. I cried. The doctors waited over a minute to cut the cord (I had requested delayed cord clamping). She did well from the beginning (just a bit lazy) and they let her hang out with me for a couple minutes while I was on the table.

In the NICU, she only required some time in the warmer and under the lights to treat some jaundice. Other than that she did beautifully.

After 5 years of trying and 8 m/c's we have our little miracle. She is a joy in our lives and we are over the moon happy. Miracles do happen. 😍
