I'm just waiting for that first call now! It's exciting, but sort of nerveracking. I really hope my first assignment is known "in advance" ie. I get to know the day before at least - that's somehow less scary!

I spent yesterday packing a bag with everything I needed, including ID, timesheets, handover sheets, pencilcase, and a file with resources such as standby English and Maths lessons should I ever be left with no planning - it took over half the day just to plan the lessons. So I am all ready to go if I do get that last-minute call one morning. Though there are still things I want to add to the bag, and I still need to organise membership of a teaching union.

Plus I've felt sick all day every day the last few days. I'm 9 weeks pg now, which is known as the peak of m/s, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Even the sea bands, which were previously working, are only taking the edge off now. And Daniel has been getting anxious about school and his behaviour has really taken a dive (for those who don't know, he has autism).

So...I just wanted to post then you know I'm still around and also that I haven't forgotten about the prizes I owe people on JM. I wanted to get them done before today but with feeling ill and chores to do and Daniel it just hasn't happened. I will do them when I can...if I go MIA it's because I've been called out and am having to push the remaining chores I have to do into the evenings.

good luck with your supply teaching! I take it that is our equivalent of substitute teaching? (ie filling in for a teacher who is sick/away/etc)..

I hope your m/s passes soon, I had it with both girls and it sucked!

Yes, same as substitute teaching. Though work is scarce over here at the moment on supply.
