Why or why not?

We have the opportunity to get raw goat's milk from an extended family member. I understand there are risks and benefits and would like real world experiences and info from both sides.

I will drink it. Unheated milk contains its full complement of enzymes and lactase-producing bacteria needed by our bodies to break down and assimilate the milk sugar lactose.

My DH & I drink raw cows milk/cream full time. I love the probiotic nature of this LIVE food! It saves us money too as it won't spoil the way pasteurized milk does. However, during this pregnancy, I have chosen to give it up, just in case. If, not likely, but possible, there were to be some e coli or listeria bacteria in the milk, a fetus cannot withstand this. An adult would likely end up with some hospital treatment, but recover. Most pregnancies would end in miscarriage, stillbirth, etc. I also gave up eating deli meat & soft cheese. So, although the risk is fairly low, I am not willing to take it. I have to do some research on children's age & raw dairy risks. I would like to give it to LO asap. It has so many health benefits.

I would you can get some benefits too.

A baby is a bundle of joy to ones family. They should be poured with caring and coated with so much love. Their innocent smiles, glittering eyes and joyful laugh could make the sun shine inside a home. And overwhelming us with such cuteness only they can own!
