Has anyone had their adrenal gland function tested? If so, did your doctor order a blood, saliva or urine test? What were your results? Were you ultimately diagnosed with adrenal disfunction? If so, how were you treated?

Yes. I ordered the lab myself the first time (you can do that online). I did a 24 hr saliva test. With those results, I convinced my doc to test me. He did only a fasting blood draw. Both said my stress level was through the roof. He flat-out told me he doesn't know how to treat it, and he doesn't know anyone who does. I only know of one in this area who does, but he doesn't take insurance, and he's so popular, he's also not taking new patients. He has a PA who takes new patients, but rumor has it she stinks at her job, and there's a very long wait anyway. (Also doesn't take insurance... $200 just to walk through the door.) My doc referred me to a compounding pharmacy because he said the pharmacist there was great with holistic, over the counter remedies. Didn't work. Not only that, but the stuff he gave me (can't remember what... it was 2 years ago) wasn't safe for pg. We were TTC.

It's hard to find someone who really knows what they're doing. The first step is to find a good thyroid doc. I have an "ok" doc. He listens, and he Rx Armour, but he's not as knowledgable as I'd like, and he doesn't have a very good bedside manner. If you find a really, really good thyroid doc, you'll probably have a good chance of getting proper diagnosis & treatment for adrenal issues as well.
