I'm sorry I haven't posted for awhile girls. My family doc finally referred me to an endo. I had my first appointment with her last month and I really like her. She ordered a ton of blood work, all the typical thyroid tests, basic metabolic panel and also a full hormone panel (due to irregular menstrual cycle). She also ordered a thyroid u/s because I hadn't had one since 2006. So... I had my follow-up appt. with her yesterday morning... all the hormonal results are within normal range, so that's great. My TSH is 4.2, which she feels is a little bit too high, she likes to see numbers between 1-2. She has increased my synthroid to 100mcg from 88 mcg. I also tested positive for Hashimotos antibodies. And if you remember I had an MRI back in September to check my pituitary gland; there is some fullness in my pituitary gland, but at this time my endo is not worried about that. What she is concerned with are my u/s results. I've always had a bunch of nodules, about 3 on each side, approximately 1 cm each. Well now the nodules on the left are pretty much gone, and I have 2 on the right instead of 3, but they are now 3 cm each. She said that the nodules are suspicious because they are very vascular, having a good blood supply going to them. She has scheduled a needle aspiration biopsy for January 27th. Everyone on this board seems so knowledgeable I really wanted to get your opinions. I know the vast majority of nodules are benign, but what feeling do you get based on my u/s results?? I have to say that my endo seemed concerned. I really don't feel like waiting until Jan. 27th to get things moving.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I don't know anything about that; I hope someone here can answer your questions!

I honestly don't know much about nodules but I do know that if it's the worst... cancer, then thyroid cancer is the easiest cancer to treat so that is good news.

I don't know if she knows much about nodules though I know she has had her thyroid removed due to thyroid cancer, maybe she can help... JustMommies Message Boards - View Profile: MeganMomof5

I'm not much help...I was diagnoised with Thyroid cancer this summer and had surgery to remove it in September...I had one nodule on my right side, it was I think 2cm, and my doctor said it was on the larger side....The biopsy wasn't too bad, but I recomend getting a sedative (they gave me one) because it's kind of painful, and just a weird feeling and I think having that really helped me get threw it...Good luck and I really hope that it's nothing....If you ever need to talk, feel free to PM me.
