I'm new to the board...just thought I'd give a quick intro!!

My name is Heidi (27) married to Dale (27). I have an 8 year old daughter, Alexis "Lexi" from a previous relationship...But my husband is her dad as far as she's concerned...and he's in the process of adopting her. Anyway...now we're expecting #2 in Oct...Lexi will be a few months shy of 9 when this one is born!! So far she's really excited...granted I expect that to change after #2 has been here for awhile but I'm enjoying it while it lasts!!

I look forward to getting to know you all!!

Welcome and Congrats! I have 3 kiddos, Sean is 12, Traci is 8 and Keira is 9 months. Keira was born a couple of months before Sean turned 12 and Traci turned 8 (they are just about 4 years apart.. 4 days less actually). Traci is AMAZING with her sister! She loves to do anything that would help with her. The one thing you need to be careful with is regression. Traci wanted to be the baby again for a short period of time. She also wants to play with ALL of Keira's toys.

Good luck!

i was 9 and a half when my second brother arrived. The age gap was great, because I was old enough to do a lot with the baby. Mom figures I changed just as many diapers as she did.

I honestly think she will do really well. Older girls love to be 'little mommies'. I think she will be a big help to you and enjoy the responsibility of being a big sister. My daughter is 6 and I get a little bit of the wanting to be a baby again but not too much... I would just really make sure you let her know what a great job she is doing as a big sister and what a wonderful help she is etc.

Thanks for my siggy Steph2007!
