We have a new blended family, with the children ranging from girl 5yo to boy 12yo. We'd like to start having family movie night, but haven't had much luck finding something that all the kids could enjoy. Any suggestions?

Hi Karri, thats a great question! Ben is too little for movies yet... and Travis is old enough to watch pretty much everything now. I remember Travis liking the Muppet movies a lot, and because they are older they are cheap to rent....I hope we get some other sugestions too!

My kids 10, 5 and 1 all love SpongeBob, Drake and Josh,Jimmy Neutron, I-carly and Hannah Montana. The also like the H.S. musical movies, and they all watch Veggietales. Really my kids get along really well when it comes to watching things together--if it is on Nick they are all happy.

we have netflix in our house, whats great about this is you can get the general description and everything but the best part is when you check in the rating it tells you why it's rated that way. i found this tool to be extremely helpful. my 1 y/o isn't into movies but the 14 and 10 y/o have different tastes, things like harry potter and spider man do good on movie nights. as my daughter gets older we'll have a harder time with it but netflix makes my movie nights easier.

tv shows we watch vary tho, my daughter watches noggin during the day and the 10 y/o watches things like drake and josh, hannah montana, and zoey 101. he also watches other stuff i don't approve of like fairly odd parents and stuff, i jsut have him either change the channel or get brook doing something else.
