Superstitious about completing the nursery too early?

I am not normally a superstitious person.. well maybe not. Friday the 13th doesn't freak me out... nor black cats. Triple 6's kind of does.. but that's about it. But, for some reason, I still haven't taken his bedding out of the packaging to look at it piece by piece.. I'm just kind of nervous to! We just purchased his wall letters & nursery furniture yesterday & I will be 28 weeks on Tuesday. I have no reason to feel this way. Maybe, I'm just weird LOL! My mom said something to me early on in my pg about not buying too many baby items until I was past the point of viability. I am well past that now. I suppose it's first-time mommy jitters!

huge thanks to Jaidynsmum for my lovely siggy!

Nope not here, I wanted it done! I'm not worried about being jinxed with anything I even bought tons of baby clothes before we got prego, it made me happy and saved us money, cause I haven't had to buy many clothes yet, I will for bigger sizes

Our sons room didnt get decorated till I was 37 weeks along. It would of gotten done sooner but I had to sprained hips so there was a limit to what I could do, DF's mum did our DS's room in the end (dont ask how it went - stupid woman! Lol).

This time around we have to decorate later rather than sooner because we dont have a stable home yet & may not get one til Im around 30 weeks at this rate. Im looking forward to doing it though, I wouldnt feel worried or anything. Many woman feel worried about jinxing the baby but its easier to have it done now than after the baby gets here.

Clothes wise weve barely brought anything & Im 20 weeks, we didnt buy anything at the start as we got told we lost the baby & had 2 scans to comfirm the baby was okay, by the time we knew the baby was safe it was Christmas & money was tight so we decided to shop after Christmas but my scans booked for the 8th Jan so were holding out til then lol.

I've never heard that before but I can understand the "jitters"..... I'm 22 weeks or so and we are starting on the nurery but that's just because I really want to....lol. And I know I'm not going to want to do it later on when school stuff gets wild again. Good luck with everything and check out the bedding.... it sounds like fun!

I wouldn't say I'm superstitious but I definitely am cautious about these things. I'm 31 weeks and have just now started taking tags off of her clothes and took the bedding out of the packaging. I think my caution comes more from having lost 3 babies before. I still think to myself "oh my God, what if something happened and I had to come home to all of this?" I have to make a conscious effort to keep planning like I'm going to have her (because at this point my chances are far greater of bringing baby home)

*Thank you so much to Jaidynsmum for my beautiful siggy!*

Kinda. If I were truly superstitious, Id just wait until after the baby were born and whatnot, but I do worry. I worry about doing too much, and God forbid things go wary. I know I have to proceed with getting things done now (9 weeks before my due date), just because waiting until the end would be way too much, I have my 2 girls, chores, appts. Right now I have energy and physical ability (my legs arent damaged from an episiotomy or something like that lol), so better now, than a week postpartum.
