This makes me mad. But it doesn't surprise me in the least. However, if someone has such a problem with a state official being an atheist, I'd GLADLY tell them the same thing they tell us about this supposedly being a Xian country: "MOVE."

..... I hate people.

First of all, one's religious beliefs are really no one else's business but the person they belong to. Secondly, it really ticks me off that people are so **** concerned with what everyone else is doing, thinking, saying, etc. How the heck is it that people who are religious can belief in their god, but people who aren't, can't have their own beliefs??? There is something very wrong with that.

Atheists Are Banned From Holding Public Office In Seven US States

By Olivia Crellin
December 10, 2014 | 9:35 pm
If you're an atheist and interested in becoming a city council member or a juror in Maryland, well you can forget it: the East Coast state is one of seven in the US, which thanks to long-standing provisions in their state constitution, prohibits those who don't believe in God from holding public office.
Atheists are up in arms about the old-fashioned restriction, which also affects non-believers in Arkansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas, and are trying to get rid of the bans.
