My friend told me today that the said that she has 1% chance of having a baby. She really wants a baby, but the doctor told her that she cant have any of her own. Has anyone had a baby while going through early menopause? Does herbal medicine help? does taking fertility medicine help? there has to be some eggs left inside of her. I don't know what to tell her. I fee, so bad for her. She said she will think about adoption if she totally looses hope in having a baby of her own. The doctor also told her that he can use someone else's eggs and her husbands sperm to create a baby, but its not the same to her. She wants her own baby really badly. What have you ladies tried and what works? she lives in CA. If you can recommend some good doctors please do. Thank you.

Without more details it's hard to know. I would encourage your friend to come post on the TTC with Medical Assistance board. The girls over there are awesome and if she can post a few more details they can probably help her a little easier with questions and advice.

There are things they can do and many women go on to have babies in her situation. I would definatly encourage her to seek out as much information as possible and hopefully she will have a beautiful baby in the near future.

was the doc she saw a fertility expert or a gp? i would definitely fine another doc ( especially one who specializes in fertility) b/c the drugs they have out there really can do amazing things

Definitely have her get on the boards here!

Theres still so much hope for her!!! As long as she keeps the will! My mom was told at 18 she would NEVER IN HER LIFE conceive a child on her own because of pre menopause. And well theres me and my little bro. There would have been a third, but the baby was lost due to to much heavy lifting because she didnt know she was pregnant so nothing medical. My obgyn even told me that 85% of the women told they will never conceive end up having multiple children, he told me this when I went in sobbing last year because I had not conceived yet, and told him my mothers medical history. So, I dont have any dr's to offer but, please tell her there is always a chance as long as she has ovaries and a uterus, and nevers loses the will to become a mother because someone gets the chance everyday to become a mother when told otherwise!!!

thanks claire1979 for my 1st JM siggie!
