I wouldn't mind having one around Christmas but it will kinda suck because I already know that I have to get a c-section and I will be out for about a week or 2. That wouldn't be good timing around Christmas!! But since I don't know rather I'm pregnant right now or not I will just have to wait the mext week out and see.

Anyone not TTC next month??

I certainly will not hold off...I don't care if I am due around Christmas. The way I look at it is that being my first pregnancy it is common to be up to 2 weeks late of your due date, so I highly doubt I'd be on time. A friend of mine is holding off next month...not me!

We not put off ttc because of any holiday. We did when DH was going to be gone for 7 months to sea, but now I wish we had kept ttc before he had left, now we would if he gets deployed again it would just be put on hold while he was gone

My son was due on December 26th and actually came on December 6th. It does make the holiday time crazy with Thanksgiving and then his birthday and then Christmas, but we don't put up any inside decorations until his birthday is over just so he gets his own special day without it being a mix between his birthday and Christmas.

Here's something else to consider. I had many more people noticing my pregnancy around October and November because it was a great conversation topic. People were always commenting to me about, "oh, it's going to be a Christmas baby" and "what will you do if he's born on Christmas?" So in that aspect the extra attention was nice.

I was very organized. I started Christmas shopping in October and by the middle of November I had all presents bought and wrapped and I had all my Christmas cards ready to go out so I wasn't trying to do a million things at the last minute and be a new mom

I was obviously saddened by my m/c in January because I would have been due in August. I so desparately wanted a summer baby, but now here I am faced with the possibility of another December baby (or at least 2 children born between November and January) and I'm fine with it. Now I actually think it might be kind of neat because we can have 1 birthday party (if they're born close) and then on their birthdays, they can have that day to make all the decisions - what to have for lunch, what to do for dinner, and a special activity to do on their birthday.

Okay, that got long!! lol

I've considered it...because my niece's b-day is Nov 4th, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas, Then my nephew's b-day is Jan 8th..

But I will TTC again next month if not PG this month, because I have PCOS, and I will try every month to get PG, holidays won't stop me or birthdays.

My due date if I get preggo this month would be in early Dec so it would not bother me but even if my dd would be Christmas day I would still do it. With my last pregnancy I was due in Nov. which was great because at my job you were not allowed to take any time off between Thanksgiving and 1/15 so you only had off Christmas day and had to go back to work the next which is hard when you spend Christmas day with family and want to relax at home the next day and let your kids enjoy there toys. By having her in Nov I got to enjoy her first Christmas because I was on maternity so it worked out great. Of course I am a SAHM now so it is not an issue but for the ladies who are working it comes out to be a real blessing.

Today I feel like whenever I get pregnant I would be blessed. I am a person that likes a lot of control over things, but this is one thing that only the good lord above can do. We got married January 3rd, 2004 and we had Christmas and New years before our wedding--it was insane, so this would be one more thing to add to it. I just want to be a Mom and have a little piece of my husband and I walking around--no matter if it is December or January. BabyDust for those Christmas Babies!!!!

We have talked about this. I would really rather not have a Christmas baby. It's just a busy time of year! My birthday is the end of January and it is really nice. If we don't get pregnant this month , it would be nice to skip a month of TTC simply for the due date issue. Problem is, this is our first month TTC and I don't really want to take a break yet. We will probably try anyway. A baby anytime of the year is a blessing!

I am ALL for a Christmas Baby! At first I thought no, but we have tried so hard for a baby, that I'll be happy to deliver on Christmas day! All I want for chirstmas is a little Baby! Wouldn't that be a wonderful present! And as for the birthday thing, We could always have a 1/2 year party in the summer for the little one. Kind of an unbirthday party just like on Alice in Wonderland.

I would be happy to conceive whenever I could... but I do know from experience that kids tend NOT to like having a b-day around x-mas. My sister's b-day is Dec. 16th and my brother's the 20th and both felt that they always got jipped - not from our parents... they tried to make sure that it did not make a difference. But the rest of the family and some of their friends would not have the money to buy them gifts or the time for a party because of the time of year.... My birthday is in May and I always got more attention and gifts then they did. It DID make a difference, and I always felt so bad for them....

If we conceive this month we will be due around the end of November. I'm ok with having a close to Christmas baby. Frankly, whenever we conceive it will be a blessing!

A Christmas baby would be totally okay with us. I was considering not TTC this cycle as I wasn't sure I wanted to have a 3rd child in Nov. I already have 2 born in Nov. but decided that we couldn't just throw away a cycle. If I do get my + this cycle then the baby would be due about 10 days after my middle DD's b.day.

I too have to have a c-section once again. I had my VBAC with DD#2 which I wanted to do with DD#3 but had to have her by emergency c-section. So I'd be okay with a Christmas baby. As long as its fairly early in Dec.

I just want to let you know that I hope you will be expecting a baby before the end of 2005. But just a note from experience, and for your future child, Christmas birthdays SUCK!!!! I was born on December 23 and everyone always gets me one presant for both, one card for both, Christmas cakes and cupcakes (sometimes cookies ) and I have never had an outdoor party. On top of that when I did have parties, no ones parents would let their kids come because it was so close to the holidays and most of them have family in town.

So if you do end up with a Christmas baby, PLEASE make a big deal for their birthday so they don't feel overshadowed by the holiday. Give them like a July birthaday party or something so they can go to Six Flags or Disnyland or something. And never, NEVER give them a Christmas card that says "Oh, and Hppy Birthday too."

I think all the hype about a child getting ripped off all depends on the parents.

I am born Dec 16, Kirk, is Dec 22, Kiera is Dec 10, Sydney is Nov 30 and this baby is due Nov 10.

My brother is Dec 29

I think it is nice to be born at the special time of year.

Sometimes people get too hyped up in the commercialism of Christmas and not the true reason, it isn't all about presents, nor is your birthday.

I hope that you all can see that a baby is a blessing and that the day that blessing arrives is special REGARDLESS of who s/he may share it with.
