So I just went off BC last week and and I'm on CD 11. I've had a brownish/sometimes reddish spotting the last couple of days. Will that affect my period or my chances of getting pregnant this month? Thanks!!!!

I am in the same boat as you (just off BCP and spotting) but I don't know if anyone can really answer your question. From what I have read and understand, when you get off the BCP it can take your body some time to regulate. I think your spotting is just lack of the hormones it is used to.

Some people can O right away when coming off the pack, and some people may not O for a few months. So, it totally just depends on your body. Hope that helped.

Thank you, tasha_mae, for my very special siggy!

A lot of strange things can occur when you quit bcp, I wouldn't give anything much thought until you know that your periods are regular and that you are ovulating. You will likely have weird spotting for awhile. That's what is happening to me.

I have read if you go off the BCP mid pack that you can get spotting as your body tries to regulate. I know it is best to make sure to finish a pack before going off, don't know if that helps or applies to you

Big time thanks to jmmysterymaker for my WONDERFUL siggie!

I was on the pill for 10 years and got pregnant the 2nd month off of it. I finished a pack, had my "period" and stopped taking the pills. I got a real period about 30 days later. I don't think I had any spotting, though. But it's normal to spot a little because your body is used to the pill and now it's gone.

Thanks for the info! It went away, so I'm hoping to be ovulating this week. We'll see what happens but I'm trying not to get too excited or stressed!

When I was on the pills long time ago and I missed more than one and when I went off them I had spotting too. Its really common. Its just from your changing hormone levels. You may get AF at any time now. When your on the pill it controls when you should get AF but now that you are not taking them anymore anything can happen while your cycle regulates. Its hard to predict when you will O again. You may even before your next AF. I would keep an eye out for ewcm. Good luck!
