With my particular situation timing is very important since we will only have 1 shot maybe 2 shots a cycle to get it right. So my question is, what is the best time to DTD? 1 day before O, 2 days before O. day of O? or in terms of lh surge..is it better to do it 12 hours after or 36 hours after?

I have read it's best to start at CD 9 and sex every other day until you ovulate.

I would say one day before O would be best, then 2 days before O and then day of.

Sperm can live inside you for 5, maybe 6 days max! The hardy ones of course! Most die within 72 hours even if they make it through the cervix into the fallopian tubes - a long journey. Apparently some sperm may lay dormant for a few days and then when the egg is released they get super excited and it revilitises them haha…who knows! I read this online because we only got 2 chances this month as SO was away during that time so we BD on day of + opk and day after. Anyhow I'd say you get 2 shots, I'd say the day of the OPK and the day after.

Good luck
